Refugee Protection in Hong Kong Today (Webinar)

This talk focused on people seeking asylum / refugees in present-day Hong Kong. We examined the governmental and United Nations mechanisms in relation to refugees in Hong Kong and the socio-economic realities of being an asylum applicant in Hong Kong. In conclusion, we discussed proposed amendments to the relevant law that were being considered in the Legislative Council.

The talk was co-hosted with The Chinese University of Hong Kong Library as part of a series of events organized by the exhibition Nàng Tự Do, an exhibition of artwork produced in the detention camps during the arrivals of the Vietnamese refugees.
