This talk focused on people seeking asylum \/ refugees in present-day Hong Kong. We examined the governmental and United Nations mechanisms in relation to refugees in Hong Kong and the socio-economic realities of being an asylum applicant in Hong Kong. In conclusion, we discussed proposed amendments to the relevant law that were being considered in the Legislative Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The talk was co-hosted with The Chinese University of Hong Kong Library as part of a series of events<\/a> organized by the exhibition N\u00e0ng\u202fT\u1ef1\u202fDo<\/a>, an exhibition of artwork produced in the detention camps during the arrivals of the Vietnamese refugees.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
